Karen,

You are obviously very active when it comes to social causes. It seems that on several occasions you have been actively involved in some way with a number of the issues raised here on this blog. It’s wonderful that you are so energetic about some of these areas – nothing happens without action.

Personally, I don't drink Pepsi either - I'm a Coke man when it comes to soft drinks (Pepsi has traditionally struggled in Australia). But I must say that the whole project and associated media attention has raised Pepsi's profile in my mind, and no doubt in the minds of many others, in a way that advertising at sporting events could never have achieved.

Andrew, I am a fan of cause related marketing and do always feel better about supporting brands that support the community and/or charities. I joined the Pepsi project on Facebook. I don't drink pop but even for me it made the brand top of mind. In these economic times, companies that are willing to support communities and charitable organizations is truly a wonderful thing for marketing and consumers.

I like socially aware marketing and hope the Pepsi effort becomes a successful and continuing program.
