Certainly. If a larger portion of the general public attempts to take an active role in decisions affecting society as a whole, as you say, then a natural outgrowth of this would be higher stock prices, as well a considerably greater level of public respect, for organizations which behave in a socially responsible manner.

Current economic conditions are waking people up to problems whose root cause is public apathy. As we become more aware that we can&#039;t simply defer all decision making to business and political leaders, we&#039;re going to be paying more attention. One result of that will be higher values (in every sense of the word, including stock value) placed on organizations that engage in SRI.</description>
